A SERIOUSLY GREAT Mother's Day Gift

Our Newest Checklist can Radically Change Your Life.

The WorkingMom.com Kid's Chore Chart was born out of an epiphany that occurred while I was straightening my house. Even though I was in the process of cleaning, I realized my house was getting messier by the minute. You see, my children were in other parts of the house taking out toys and playing dress-up at a rate that far eclipsed my cleaning speed.

That's when I realized that Mommy can't do "it all" (And to be straight with you, this particular Mommy can't even do "most of it".) -Not without live-in help -which we cannot afford.

So what were my options?

  1. Go on the "Mommy Warpath" throwing an all-out hissy-fit commandeering my family into a mad cleaning frenzy. (Tempting.but it would've been as futile as putting a band-aid on a serious injury.)
  2.  Give up...throw in the towel...live with the mess and accept it as my lot in life. (Not a chance...that doesn't even SOUND like me.)
  3. Give Big Dan a "piece of my mind" about how he could help out more. (Also tempting...but utterly naïve -and after you've been married long enough you'll know why.)
  4. Pray for wisdom and a practical solution. (Now we're getting somewhere.)
I settled on option 4, and this was the result.

Do I, or do I not have the ability to create interactive checklists? Personal Time Management Tools? Motivational and Inspirational Writing? What would happen if I asked the WorkingMom team to come up with an absolutely stellar, totally phenomenal Kid's Chore Chart? A high-tech, free printable chore chart that would have children begging to do chores?

Yes, you read correctly, I requested something that would have kids "begging to do chores."

After all, kids "live-in" and they can "help."

The Kid's Chore Chart is:
  • Very Fast and very easy to use
  • Personalized for each child
  • Has default settings & suggestions -in case you can't think of everything
  • Includes fun "chores"
  • Remembers free play
  • Has four different kid-themed backgrounds to choose from
  • Prints out on one page
  • Can also be emailed
  • Is completely free
  • Doesn't require registrations

Your kid's chore list is terrific: very easy to use, colorful and my son will love the personalization. It's just as easy to use as the grocery list, which I use weekly, and your babysitter list. Love your website and the fantastic suggestions and thoughts! Carolyn

I LOVE the interactive chore chart!! I have a 13-yr old step-daughter who comes over 2 nights during the week and every-other weekend. She does not help whatsoever with any of the basic chores and really adds to the mess with leaving dishes and clothes all over the house! I have a 4-yr old son who helps out more around the house than she does!!

Your chart was simple to create and appears to be inviting to the child! We selected some of your chore suggestions and added a few of our own.

We printed out a chore chart tonight and plan to present it to her tomorrow night when she comes over. Wish us luck!!!

    LOVE the new chore chart!

I absolutely love that you can customize it...and I could totally relate to the 4 options that you shared (wink). Thanks for asking your team to develop something unique.

I am positive that many moms will be encouraged by this great tool!

I like the chore chart, but could you make it for one week instead. It uses too much ink when you have four children. Other than that I think it's great and it will help my 7 yr. remember and help me not to go crazy.

      Sheri,

That's a GREAT idea! I'll find out whether we could add a "week-at-a-glance" option.

I can relate about printer ink. We've got FIVE kids (Ages 9, 7, 4, 4, and 1) naturally the little kids insist upon having the same list as the big kids...so a weekly chart would save ME time, energy and money as well!

This is something I NEED! My oldest, almost 25, is off and away from home, but my 11 & a 1/2 year old is still home. I need something that will motivate her to clean up after herself seeing that my getting mad to the boiling point (and then) she *might* want to clean up a couple of things! I'm hoping this chart will help because constantly reminding her of her responsibilities to the point of screaming doesn't help! LOL!
